Disgraceful coverage of the Debbie Purdy story by pro-euthanasia Newsnight.

Anyone watching BBC's Newsnight right now?

Its treatment of the Debbie Purdy assisted suicide story is cringe-makingly biased. Shame on you for that report, Sophie Hutchinson. You're not a journalist but a cheap propagandist.

Huh! At last, we get a few minutes of David Morris. A pretence of balance.

It's not often I agree with Phyllis Bowman, but I thought she nailed the judgement nicely as driving a coach and horses through primary legislation.

Where is this great demand for euthanasia coming from all of a sudden? It used to be just dear old Ludovic Kennedy boring on, but it seems over the last few years the liberals have all worked themselves up into a lather on the issue. Could it just be that, New Labour having enacted the rest of their programme, they need a new hobbyhorse?

Or perhaps, New Labour having enacted the rest of their programme, they're looking for a way out?

I'd say the demand was coming from the general public, who overwhelmingly support assisted suicide and voluntary euthanasia, and whose juries regularly refuse to convict on these matters
